The Panasonic TR-001, one of the lightest televisions made, has a 1-inch screen, and on November 14, 1969, seven people watched the launch of Apollo 12 on this very television.
Panasonic "Orbitel" TR-005 - Named the "Orbitel" for its space-age look, the TR-005 is a black & white solid-state television with a 5 inch screen.
The Ampex VR-3000 video tape recorder, one of the heaviest portable machines, weighs around 50 pounds; cameramen used to carry this machine on their backs for recording outside the studio. The tape is 2 inches wide, and one reel of tape records for 20 minutes.
We also have a 1939 Iconoscope camera.
Our pair of Ampex VPR-80 video recorders. The broadcast standard of 80s television.
The giant reel-to-reel Quadruplex 2-inch-wide tape could capture an a hour and a half of broadcast recording; this artifact contains an actual broadcast from 1980 and weighs 19 lbs.
Look close - there is a one-hour HDTV cassette in front of the reel.
