The 20th century brought technological changes unlike anything experienced before. Machines carried people into the sky early in the century and other machines landed on Mars towards the end. Early communication began with wires and ended with satellites. And computations changed from heavy mechanical calculators in the office to personal computers and the Internet in the home.

The Technopolis Museum presents the history of 20th century technology including audio, video and computers as well as design and environment. Visitors will enter Technopolis through a timeline display of devices from the entire 20th century along with the relevant news of the day, then continue around a series of decade rooms full of design styles and technologies appropriate to each of the ten decades.

As Technopolis grows, we will continue to bring a variety of technological artifacts to be displayed and used by the public. With the amount of technology the 20th century developed, Technopolis will never quite be completed.
